What changes the price of embroidery
Stitch count
The biggest factor. Most shops charge per 1,000 stitches, so a 20,000-stitch jacket back costs about four times a 5,000-stitch left chest logo.
Quantity
Hooping and thread changes are the same for 1 piece or 100, so the price per piece drops at 12, 24, 48 and 100 pieces.
Number of locations
Each placement (chest, sleeve, back) is a separate hooping and a separate charge.
Digitizing
Turning a logo into a stitch file is a one-time cost per design. Services often charge about $10 to $50 or more; you can do it yourself in minutes instead.
The garment
Blanks are priced separately, usually with a markup of 30 to 50 percent on cost.
Specialty work
Caps, metallic thread, 3D puff and patches take longer and usually cost more per piece.
