Everything you need to hoop straight
Sewing field
The area the machine can stitch, at real size for the standard hoops or your own.
Safety margin
A dashed line 3 mm inside the field, where designs should stay.
Center lines
A cross and circle to line up with your placement mark.
Grid
1 cm or half-inch squares to measure and straighten the design.
Design area
Your design's width and height drawn in the center.
Scale check
A 50 mm bar to confirm the printout is at actual size.
Printing and using the template
- Always print at 100%. Fit to page shrinks the template and your design will sew out of place.
- Print on thin paper or tracing paper so you can see the garment through it.
- Mark the garment with a water-soluble pen at the center cross before hooping.
- Check the hoop's inner frame against the template once; brands differ by a few millimeters.

How do I print a hoop template at the right size?
Press Print at actual size and set the scale to 100% (not Fit to page) in the print dialog. Check the 50 mm bar on the printout with a ruler before you use it.
What is the sewing field of a 5x7 hoop?
A 5x7 hoop usually sews about 130 × 180 mm. A 4x4 sews about 100 × 100 mm, a 6x10 about 160 × 260 mm, an 8x8 about 200 × 200 mm and an 8x12 about 200 × 300 mm. Your machine's manual gives the exact field.
How do I use a hoop template?
Mark the design's center on the garment, line up the template's center cross with it and tape it down. Hoop so the template sits square in the hoop, remove it, and the design will sew where you marked.
My hoop is larger than the paper. What now?
Download the SVG; it's drawn at true size, so a PDF viewer or print shop can print it tiled across pages or on large paper.
