What is exp file in embroidery?

Melco's expanded stitch format, used by Melco commercial machines and read directly by Bernina embroidery machines.

File formats

EXP file, explained

Like DST, an .exp file stores stitches, jumps, trims and color changes but not thread colors, so keep the color sheet handy when threading. Single moves are limited to 12.7 mm, and longer ones are split automatically. Make one with image to EXP, or see the Bernina page for the formats Bernina machines read.
